  • Identify the plantation site - Select a suitable site, considering factors like space availability, exposure to sunlight, type of soil and the purpose of the plant.
  • Select the right tree - Choose healthy disease-free sapling of native trees; refer to the table provided for the same.
  • Dig a hole - Dig a hole slightly wider and deeper than the root ball of the sapling. This provides room for roots to spread and grow.
  • Plant - Press well the root ball before removing the bag and try to keep root ball undisturbed. Place the sapling into the hole gently. Ensure that the plant is straight and upright.
  • Water - Water the sapling to settle the soil and hydrate the roots.

To ensure the plant grows healthily after planting, it must be watered at regular intervals. It must receive appropriate exposure to sunlight and be protected from pests and diseases. Soil moisture and fertility may be maintained through mulching. Regular monitoring will contribute to the healthy growth and development of the plant.
